Kings Row - Tandoori Nights

Kings Row - Tandoori Nights

Chef Sundeep does it again. I've been going to Kings Row for a couple of years now and have always enjoyed their monthly roast pig feast that's hosted on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Chef Sundeep, their executive chef, does not play around when curating a menu for their monthly food haul. This time around, Chef Sundeep had planned for and contemplated for this moment to tie his culture into the food he creates.

Giant kebabs grilled outdoors on their patio grill. The varieties come with the choice of Tandoori, Garlic, Chili, or Shawarma Chicken, served on a fresh naan wrap with lettuce, onion, and tomato. Choice of Raita, chutney, or hot sauce.

Each naan is rolled out my hand. Chefs Sundeep's house recipe.

Margarita Slushies

Ridiculously refreshing.

Chef Sundeep hosts a special food event once a month on every 3rd Thursday. Stay tuned to see what he has in store for this month. I wonder.

Smitty's Grill

Back here again for a Holiday lunch. I mentioned before that I would love to come here to slug a few martinis, but today, I slugged a few old fashioned. Who care it's the holidays! right? Our waiter came by and presented the daily specials. I was craving salmon, but when he mentioned hanger steak, I knew that's what I needed to order no matter how much steak I will be eating this week. And since we are in the holidays, I asked for a side of horse radish cream because I am addicted. It's been kind of my new thing lately to eat all my steaks with horse radish cream. Try it, I'm sure you will like it too.

Hanger Steak here with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The steak is grilled and served with demi-glace sauce. Of course, it's medium rare or die. The meat was very flavorful, and tender, but more towards the center. I was in a happy place. The old fashioned made this taste even more decadent than it looks. I'm a carnivore and I love a red steak, but I could never order a rare steak. Medium rare is as far as I would go, unless I am eating tartare or carpaccio, of course.

I do recommend their specials. I noticed a lot of people order their pot pies. That will be my next hit list! Though I really want to have prime rib... Steak always prevails! but we will see next time.

Cheers and get grubbin!

LaLas Argentinian Grill

A colleague took me here for the first time back when I worked in Hollywood. I didn't know what to expect, but knew the food was going to be great based off of tasting their chimicurri.

Going a little deeper with their chimichurri sauce, it was basically freaking amazing. I never remembered it to me pulverized like some restaurants, but you can still see a few of the leafy bits. My friend ordered 2 because he didn't want to share. Now I get why.

I've tried many things here. But one thing I was surprised on how delicious it was, were their burger.

Lalas Burger

I'm a burger snob. There's just nothing I love more than a good patty between bread. And when they ask you how you like your burger done, you know you are in for a good treat. It had good meat flavor, a beautiful char, but the best part was slathering the chimichurri sauce on. ALL over. Slow motion. Big bite. Finger-licking-napkin-faced- GOOD.

Argentina Sausage

I've never had this before, but I did enjoy this. Yes. Chimichurri met the sausage. It has a nice snap and well balanced with the salsa. I've also tried blood sausage before. Unique and actually quite good. As long as you can get passed the blood part.

I'll definitely be back soon because this place makes bad ass food. So if you are ever in town and want to eat here, take me.
